Where and when do Street Angels operate?

Accepted Answer

We operate Street Angels in South Shields, on the main pub grouping in the town centre. We are there from nine o'clock to midnight on, when we have enough volunteers, Friday and Saturday nights.

Question 2

Will I work on my own at night?

Accepted Answer

NO. You will be part of a team, with a minimum of two people together. You will always have a radio linked to Doormen, and a refuge to go if you do not feel safe.

Question 3

Will I need to do First Aid to the public?

Accepted Answer

There are occasions when first aid will help someone keep safe.  At those times, you will be with a first aider or will be first aid trained, and carry protective equipment as well as a first aid kit. You will be backed up by the Ambulance Service and Police Force.

Question 4

How old do I have to be to be an Angel?

Accepted Answer

Due to the nature of this volunteering, we require Angels to be over 18 years of age.
