Welcome to our Local Church Groups

CTST membership originally made up of 70 local South Tyneside Churches, however at present that has reduced to 38 churches due to church closures.

Churches Together is acknowledged as any activity, action or worship undertaken by more than a single church.

We represent our member churches throughout South Tyneside, and to achieve that representation, we support Churches Together Local, small groups of localised groups of Churches Together in South Tyneside:

Churches Together Local

Area partners are a collaboration of localised churches made up of Catholic Churches, Anglican Churches, Methodist Churches, Baptist Churches, Salvation Army and other denominations; now a membership of 38 local churches.

These localised Churches Together groups discuss what is important to their own congregations which help to steer the work of CTST, but also could lead to a localised approach to social action.  Topics discussed include how the churches can work together and also can lead to all belief discussions and activities.

Whilst some local groups meet monthly, others who do not meet regular are invited to an annual conference to talk about what is important to them.

We also partner with other faiths to form religious harmony in South Tyneside.

Joining the Local

38 churches form the membership of Churches Together in South Tyneside. If your church is not a member or does not have a representative at our meetings, you are most welcome to join in and get involved. There are great outcomes from these localised groups.
