Dementia Friendly Easter Church Service

CTST ran a very special Easter Church Service at St Gregory's RC Church, with an understanding of living with dementia, which leads to a service great for those with invisible disabilities. The CTST Nurturing Dementia Project Lead, Maria Scurfield, had worked with church leaders to ensure the comprehension of dementia was understood.

The service included members of a Primary School choir who sang their young hearts out with joy and happiness with well known songs, like Lord of the Dance.

Rev Emma Satchell lead the service which was designed to be shorter than the usual sermon. Specially printed large print order of service was available for everyone. Another Dementia Friendly Easter Service was led by Rev Peter Webster at Grange Road Baptist Church.

After the service, everyone was invited to refreshments and entertainment in the church hall. Harton Accademy provided a band to play and singers who sang 60's and 70's hits. We had dancing in our seats and some got up to relive old times.
