Easter Sunrise Service

Ninety local people gathered at the amphitheatre in South Shields on Sunday 5th April 2026 to celebrate Easter Sunday in song and prayer, under the shelter of the South Promenade out of the wind and Storm Dave.

The service was lead by Rev Jane Rowell from St Margarets URC.

Following the service, as the sun breached the horizon and those brave enough to face the cold wind to take photos of this magical moment, those present were invited to St Margarets Church for breakfast and a hot drink.
