Valuing our Volunteering

Through May 2026, we repeated our Volunteer Gatherings with three sessions for our volunteers to gather and share ideas, best practice and connect. These events are particularly important as they are a time we can say thank you to the selfless action of a volunteer.

Our volunteers include activity assistants, trustees, food servers, street angels, dementia support volunteers, befrienders, fundraisers and media team volunteers. No matter how many hours any one volunteer gives, it is a massive thank you to you.

The gatherings are for around 20 volunteers held in a supportive the Holiday Inn hotel in Boldon, where we talk about Safeguarding People and the procedures around safeguarding, Health and Safety, and the wider charity. Volunteers have the opporunity to meet volunteers from different projects and activities that we operate.

We also gathered fantastic feedback about volunteering for Churches Together in South Tyneside and shared dates for future events, for volunteers and also some for the public.
